It's useful even for cradel Catholics as a refresher course. Furthermore, if you can talk your parishes Religious Education Director to use these books instead of some of the more au courant and banal textbooks, score one for the Faith. V's wife.

Good suggestions of book titles. Interestingly enough, when I went through RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults), we had no textbooks. We listened to a "liberal" nun(what I realized later), and we read from scripture weekly.

The scripture sharing was great. The nun's take on history was informative, and she *did* talk about The Church's teachings (with her own personal commentary, of course...sighting other liberal/heretic "theologians" on occasion).

I have to thank her, and the parish itself, because 6 years later, I have a HUGE and still growing Catholic Teaching's library, because I still continue (and learn) the real teachings of the Church, and it's faith.

Best of luck in your "journey" into the One True Church, RR!
