No. There are no Benedictine Cardinals either. But, no matter who's elected, the propogators of these "prophecies" will contort him to fit into that slot.
In both the Old and New Testaments, the olive tree is a symbol of Gods chosen people, the Jews. Cardinal Lustiger is a Jew who converted to Catholicism at age 14 while hiding from the Nazis in the home of a Catholic family.
?? true or false??
Are there any Greeks? As someone else said, is there a Cardinal Martini?:)
Just because none of the Cardinals are Olivetans or members of other Benedictine congregations does not mean they do not identify themselves as Benedictine (hallo Vinko Cardinal Puljic). And while Cardinal Lustiger is aged, there are others who fit that bill who could just as easily be considered like Archbishop Jean-Baptist Gurion of the Hebrew speaking Catholics. No joy there, in my book, but there are so many possibilities that it isn't so much about contorting or contortion as it is sitting and waiting for the Holy Ghost's desire to be made manifest. Then we can rejoice as we behold gloriam olivae.
