Ratzingers campaign bears comparison to the anti-modernist drive in the early part of the century or Pius XIIs crackdown in the 1950s, critics say, but is even more disheartening because it followed a moment of such optimism and new life.
"At the most basic level, many Catholics cannot escape the sense that Ratzingers exercise of ecclesial power is not what Jesus had in mind."
"If thats the standard, then despite his intellect, his piety, his sense of purpose, all that makes him remarkable, history may not be so kind to Joseph Ratzinger after all."
National Catholic Reporter, April 16, 1999
John Allen's true feelings about the current Pope.
To: Grey Ghost II
John Allen's true feelings seem to parallel those of Andrew Sullivan:
'It would be hard to over-state the radicalism of this decision. It's not simply a continuation of John Paul II. It's a full-scale attack on the reformist wing of the church. The swiftness of the decision and the polarizing nature of this selection foretell a coming civil war within Catholicism. The space for dissidence, previously tiny, is now extinct.
Is John Allen homosexual too?

John Allen's true feelings seem to parallel those of Andrew Sullivan...and at least one deacon that I'm aware of.

John Allen is married. Bishop V. Gene Robinson was married at one time...

Many Protestant ministers wear Geneva gowns. Doesn't that qualify as a "dress?" And if you go to any high school or college graduation, you will see all the powers wearing funny hats and wearing "dresses."

Bishop V. Gene Robinson was married at one time.Should we suspect all married men of being gay?

Should we continue this sophomorish refusal to post our comments directly to those to whom we are posting? Or do you know something I don't know.

Was it a "recent search" or an "archive search". Perhaps GG was searching recent and Sink was searching archives.

Your article does not show up in a quick search, nor archived search, under "By title (date)".
I'm tired of your lies. Good-night. You and John Allen have a new pope whether you like it or not.
Viva il Papa!
