The prayer of Authority is a powerful commanding prayer that few people are aware of. By Christ,s authority and power we can put Satan and his subjects under Christ,s feet.

In the name of jesus Christ,By the Power of his Blood... In the Authority of His Word given to me as a Christian...I bind and reject you Satan and I command you to leave and I seal this room and place,and all the members of my family,friends,relatives and possessions,in the Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ

I bind and reject all familiar spirits,all companion spirits,all cardinal spirits,all spirits of affliction.

I bind and reject all spirits in the air,in the wind,in fire,in the netherworld,elements,all satanic forces of nature.

I bind and reject all spirits of confusion,disruption,division,fear,disbelief,deaf,dumb, disobedience,and spirit of games.

I bind and reject all the aspects and attributes of these spirits.

I bind and reject all interlocking spirits...I command that there will be no communication between you or anyone else.I command that you leave quietly

In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,I break and dissolve every curse,spell,hexes,evil wishes,evil desires and hereditary seals.I come against all satanic vows,pacts,satanic sacrifices and Voo Doo practices

I break and dissolve all links with psychics,clairvayants,astrologers,mediums,occult seers,satanic cults,fortune tellers,seances,ouija boards,tarot cards and occult games of all kinds.

Come Holy Spirit and fill this room corner to corner ceiling to floor.

St Michael,St Gabriel,St Raphael, and all the Holy Archangels,come and fight the battle for me.

I ask the help of all the Holy Angels,Holy Dominationd,Holy Powers,Holy Thrones,and Holy Principalities to be my "SHIELD OF DEFENSE" against all evil spirits.

I ask this in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ by the power of His blood,and in the authority of His Word given to me as a Christian.

A simpler, yet effective prayer from 1 Chr. 4, Message Bible:

10Jabez prayed to the God of Israel: "Bless me, O bless me! Give me land, large tracts of land. And provide your personal protection--don't let evil hurt me." God gave him what he asked.

Please understand that I mean no disrespect by asking the following questions. I am trying to understand this whole concepts of binding and loosing and would seriously like some feedback.

I know that the Lord gave Peter the 'keys to the Kingdom' so that whatever he bound on earth is bound in heaven, etc. (Mat 16 and reiterated in Mat 18) But there is so much binding of Satan and his minion going on in a variety of fellowships these days that I can't help but wonder how these spirits keep getting loose over and over. Outside of those two references, I don't find the concept of binding spirits anywhere else in the New Testament.

Yes, there are references to casting out demons in Jesus' name, but binding? Was the Lord really referring to evil spirits or was, as is often argued, giving Peter, and later the Apostles, the power to determine what was prohibited or allowed in the life of the church?

From Jude we find Michael the Archangel in battle with the devil over Moses' body, yet he didn't personally bind Satan, he said 'the Lord rebuke thee." Somehow this seems to be more direct, more in the power of the Lord, than what often seems to be incanatory language.

As I said, I am not criticizing, I would simply like to have someone explain this whole territory to me.

Actually, I,m glad you brought it up because I have questioned some things myself.

I do believe you can cast out Satan,spirits and demons when you ask the Holy Spirit to intervene.

The Scripture that came to me regarding this is
(Philippians 4:6-7)
Dismiss all anxiety from your minds.
Present your needs to God in every form of prayer
and petitions full of gratitude.
Then God,s own peace,which passes
all understanding will guard are hearts and minds,
in Christ Jesus.

Notice it says Every form of prayer.

In the Prayer of Authority we are petitioning
the Holy Spirit to protect us against all evil
and we are commanding all evil spirits to leave in Jesus Christs name.
We know that Satan will flee in Christs name because he has already been defeated at Calvary.
