Interesting. I know this sort of miracle has upset some individuals, too messy I guess. I have a good friend who pulled her kids out of Catholic school and stopped going to Mass because a nun told the children about just such a miracle, perhaps this very one. It has been about 20 years since my friend left the Church, she refuses to believe in the real presence but will readily tell people she is a Catholic.

she refuses to believe in the real presence but will readily tell people she is a Catholic She's not the first. Some of Christ's own disciples refused to believe and left Him. His presence is very real, though, as I learned one year ago.

That is so sad. God gives these miracles for just the opposite reason: to confirm us in our faith. Not to brag, but my faith is at a point where, first of all, I've known of this miracle for some years now but secondly, this miracle doesn't phase me in the least. Thinking about it, as our science becomes more and more advanced (i.e. genetic manipulations et all), the miracles God does give us to strengthen our faith are going to be more and more bold and indisputable. But then, do we deserve any such thing?

How sad for your friend and especially for her kids, those of us who remain true to the faith are truly blessed to witness this miracle repeated at each and every mass.
