The religious prostitution issue applies to Medjugorje as well. There are pimps running the circus tours there, and there's a real big pimp not of human nature but of fallen angelic nature (Medge) running the "apparitions." St. Paul warned us about that kind of thing, too. Nothing new under the sun.

Only very spiritually confused or morraly deranged people have anything to do with it, sad to say. P.T. Barnam had a famous saying about them that is rather timeless, and therefore applies perfectly.

I have never encountered anyone of any denomination rolling around on the floor and grunting like pigs; if it does occur, it certainly is not a common or normal trait of "charismatics" or "pentecostalists." Further, I expressed grave reservations that "charismatics" and "pentecostalists" do not conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the bible passages they quote and also that many of them held grave heresies, so I understand neither your extreme hostility towards my comments, or your odd comparisons.

Your explanation in post 95 of "praying in tongues" is unsatisfactory. While it correctly and adequately describes what occured in Acts 2, there was plainly a second phenomenon, referred to several times in Pauline letters, especially the latter portion on 1 Corinthians, that do not fit your description:

* The worshippers speech appeared as babble to those in the same prayer community who almost certainly spoke the same langauge.

* There was a separate gift of "interpretation" given to certain members of the prayer groups, which probably is the gift which the crowd experienced in Acts 2.

* Paul found it beneficial to "pray in tongues" when he prayed alone, so how could the gift reside merely in the listener, when there was no-one to listen?

You seem to be forgetting St. Paul's own warnings for the end times. Or perhaps you have chosen to ignore them. What he did at the time when the Church was in its infancy does not necessarily apply directly to us today. There were special gifts in those days for the rapid expansion of the Faith that are no longer available to us because the Faith has already been spread. St. Paul was not dealing with Protestants or Modernists. The game has changed. In fact, the principle of returning to those ancient times in the name of simplicity and the like is specifically condemned by pre-V.II popes.

You ought to get out more. The rolling pig scene is a lot more common than you might like to believe.

Here is a very good example of the difference between traditional Catholicism and Modernism, the latter of which you are all too eager to embrace, whether you recognize it or not.

One of the symptoms of the disease of Modernism is that you don't know you have it.

So go ahead and "dialogue" with the "pentecostals" and "charismatics" if you like. Nothing I say will make any difference to you, apparently.
