Have you ever read mans interpretations of the Old Testament and New Testament? Doesn’t it seem like all theologians come to the exact same conclusions? And we find ourselves reading it and then we just say, exactly what they do in the end anyway. So why do we read it? Sometimes I think it is to be part of the large group, others believe it because without realizing it, we have been conditioned to the belief of the many through a life time of hearing about it, reading about it, etc….
"Enter ye in at the strait gate," and then warn them that "wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it" (Matthew 7:13-14)
If the path is so narrow and most preachers and evangelists seem to know “The Truth” wouldn’t that mean the many will go through the gate? I am asking these questions as a simple minded, newly repentant and saved woman of God. I think about all the methods for salvation out there, the abundance of sinners prayers, the many methods of babtism, and in names…..no wonder most are sick of hearing about it. Truthfully you cant be alive at this time and have never heard Jesus. As a matter of fact this same Jesus is portrayed in so many different ways that most people have a hard time figuring out what’s the truth and which Jesus really saved. We are also taught that Jews are just crazy and they need to know the messiah. So we go on just believing that. Without even asking ourselves, well if Jews are Gods chosen, then why don’t they believe in Jesus as their messiah? It is becoming so sad out there. We have the trinity (right or wrong) it confuses most. When talking about it, people who preach and teach a triune God, say it is easy and God will show you if you just look. Catholics say this and that, do this and that and all other man made religions that you can think of. Then they talk about one another continuously. I look at all of this and I say wow….no wonder most people are more afraid of Christians than atheist. No wonder most people don’t want to be a part of it. If it is all so right then why are so many not getting it? We all blame Satan in a second. I think we give him way too much credit. God is more powerful. Yes Satan is confusing people but hello!!!! He is using us to do it.
God wants everyone saved, we are losing the battle I tell you, look around, Yes God said this would be the case in the last days, so lets try and push Satan behind us and go back to something simple again. Through my short time I have seen this for myself with the help of God and if I can anyone can.
In Acts 16:30-31, the Philippian jailer asked Paul and Silas: “ . . . ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ And they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved . . . .’ ”
Acts 2:38 – “Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the repentance of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’”
How hard is this? There is One God and saviour. And one way to be saved for us. (gentiles)
Then I have found that we must read and test everything.
This is why Paul says in 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21, "Stop despising prophesyings! Test all things and hold fast to that which is good!" The Bible thus explicitly tells us that we must test what is the word of God and what is not, just as 1 John 4:1 says, "test the spirits to see whether they are from God."
So many translations, so many added verses or are there? They fact is….God is still God and the basic truth is still there!

Stormyseas handled himself well this morning on a prophecy thread, and was very active in a discussion and handled lots of ribbing and still managed to make his points well.
Check his in forum postings for today. Newbie, opinionated, and ready to discuss religious topics. Hasn't learned all the ettiquette.
