And he's right. Those are the effects of "original sin." But he didn't mean it that away.
Folks, I wish to address briefly a few things that have been said at Angelqueen.org, the SSPX-sponsored discussion board about your humble servant, many of them charitably, some of them not. The discussion has been going on for over a week now, and I want to offer some last clarifications:
1. I do not "support" liturgical dancing now, nor do I think I ever did. Heck, I didn't even know what it was until I saw it then, and have never seen it since. I just reported, perhaps a bit over-enthusiastically, but with much fondness, of something beautiful, unique, and unrepeatable, that I saw almost 20 years ago. That might make the stomach of some of you churn, but that's not my problem. I also reported where did I see it, who was there, and what was the reaction. I also reported on its organization and its place. Nothing more. And like Forrest Gump would say, that's all I have to say about that. May the peace and love of the Lord remain with all of you, without distinction.2. The Holy See has ruled out "liturgical dancing" in the Western Rite. Unlike some others around here I have no problems with the Magisterium of the Church. Roma locuta est, causa finita est. I submit all my opinions in matters of faith and morals to the Church, the Body of Christ, and the Magisterium of the Pope and Bishops, particularly this Pope, and these bishops. Have in mind, though, that we will all dance in the Heavenly Liturgy, because then we will know exactly how to do it, we will have the perfect dispositions of soul, and like the prophet Habakkuk said, He will lead us in the dance.
3. Much fun has been poked at my animé likeness around here. Hey, I'm pleased to be the focus of so much, er, "attention." The glass my likeness holds is filled with Bristol Cream Sherry, a legal alcoholic intoxicant for which I have a certain predilection. Sherry is not for everyone, so it was the furthest thing from my mind to invite anyone to "follow me" in its consumption. As far as I'm concerned, you may drink, responsibly, whatever you want. I'm happy to see many of you had a self-righteous laugh at my expense. I'm here to serve! It keeps me humble and prevents me from becoming hyper-thermo-cephalic. A few of you here should look into that...
4. Another commentator expressed his conviction that I'm in league with, or my soul is captive to, the devil, that my soul is lost. To that person I wish to say that:
Certus sum enim quia neque mors, neque vita, neque angeli, neque principatus, neque virtutes, neque instantia, neque futura, neque fortitudo, neque altitudo, neque profundum, neque creatura alia poterit nos separare a caritate Dei, quæ est in Christo Jesu Domino nostro.
I include you, friend, in the number of powerless obstacles who by mere pharisaic fiat seek to keep me away from the love of Our Lord Jesus Christ. So, get thee behind me, learn your place, back off, and shut up.
5. Another one, more charitably, berated my very American penchant for blogging blindly about anything. Guilty as charged! The quest for self-expression is one of my vices. But there are worse vices. I make no apologies.
6. I think the same person, wagging his virtual finger in an Obi-Wanesque fashion, admonished me that I had yet "much to learn." Another thing I can agree with. I have much to learn and relatively speaking, I have little time to do so. At times, I learn through exposition, dialog and even conflict. But I'm also trying to learn through Holy Silence and my spiritual sense tells me that's the most profitable route. Perhaps I should follow it more diligently
7. One thing I forgot to add on the original, but which I think deserves one response: a user berated my daring to hold equivalent the Tridentine Mass with the NO-Mass, by which I surmise he meant the Novus Ordo Mass. My response is that fools are often known by their courage and to deny the validity of the Novus Ordo Mass is but one of the schismatic and heretical idyosincracies for which many in SSPX orbit are known. This is the kind of comment that sinks its utterer into complete irrelevancy. Irrelevant people are unworthy of any thought-out reply. My only option for them is to pray for them and leave the Lord to deal with as much mercy with them, as He does to me.
You made an excellent argument with your last point. Certainly one can prefer the Tridetine Rite to the Novus Ordo and one can choose to only attend the Tridetine rite, but that does not deny the validity of the NO. I attend the NO, but I am not the biggest fan of the way it is usually exercised.
That appears to be too common an illness among those who refuse to listen: spiritual slumber.
WAKE UP! He's at the door and He's calling!
