Our church was struck by Hurricane Katrina on Monday, August 29th. The entire church and surrounding buildings were destroyed by the storm. Nothing was left standing except the bell tower.
I was able to get to the church on September 3rd and recovered very little. I did find the brass cross that was on the altar, processional cross, 2 brass plaques, some glass from the windows, one ceramic angel, one brass candle holder, and the large Episcopal flag. I gave the flag to Francis Crawley as I was out of room, and the brass work to Gwen Hogan as they had a truck nearby.
I have not heard from any of my fellow parishioners. I would ask for anyone to write to me at my email address: flygal46@yahoo.com or call me at 251-554-8836. You may also contact Rev. Kyle D. Seage at kds@jam.rr.com. You can reach her at (601)826-5713 (cell) and (601)427-2813 (home).
