Moscow, October 27, Interfax - Interior decoration and painting of the church of St.Sava of Serbia will be completed next September. The church is considered the largest Orthodox church in the world.

Christ the Saviour Cathedral square in Moscow is 60x60 metres, while the church in Belgrade designed in Serbian-Byzantine style is 91x81.

The fresco of Christ in the cupola of St.Sava’s church will be the largest in the Christian world. The eyes of the Saviour will be as large as one metre, Kommersant newspaper wrote Thursday.

The capacity of the cathedral will accommodate some ten thousand worshippers at a time. Its volume is 170 cubic meters, and its sanctuary is bigger than the entire cathedral church in Belgrade.

The central cupola of St.Sava’s church weights 4 thousand tons. 12-meter gilded cross crowns it. There are 17 crosses of lesser size to top other cupolas. Two belfries on the west side of the church house 49 bells of different power of sound and size. Their weight differs from 12 kilo to 5 tons.

The construction of the church began in 1936. At first the war interfered, and then politics. Builders resumed their work in April 2000. St.Sava’s church was officially handed over to the Serbian Orthodox Church in 2003.

God created the Heavens and the Earth and He doesn't reside in buildings built by man's hands.

Christ told us He would come when we gather in His name, regardless of your personal interpretation on the matter. We believe Him.

He also became Incarnate and dwelt in the womb of a virgin.

You forgot the part when He said,"Destroy this temple and I will raise it in three days" There will come a day when you will no longer worship on this hill or in Jerusalem but in spirit and in truth, because God is Spirit and this is how He desires to be worshiped

He was refering to the spiritual church, I do not recall a passage where the physical temple was restored.

Christ was upset when walking into his father's house he saw merchants defiling it. Why would this be if Christ were against the idea of a house of worship?

Temple building was renewed in 1985 in Serbia, to be first Eastern country during communism to renew building of Christian churches, and that of magnificant scale.

Fall of communism started long before Polish pope was significant, ant it started in Serbia with renewal of Christianity and tempelbuilding.
Nowdays effectively destroyed by Islamofascists burning churches on Kosovo.
