Fr. Santos is a priest of a diocese in Portugal, though he is a native-born American. For the past three years, he's been on-loan (quasi-permanently) to the Diocese of Providence. He is a wholehearted supporter of the LM in his parish.

Fra Freddy (as he preferred to be called) is a layman (I think a widower, as he said something about his five adult children) who lives under vows as a First Order Knight of Malta. He is not a priest. But he DOES have a really cool K of M cape that he wore to the Pontifical Solemn High Mass!

Fra Freddy? He is a religious (a professed knight), but not a priest. You can read more about the Order of Malta. Msgr. Schmitz is a chaplain of the Order of Malta.
