In the north, we do the outside lights whenever we get a warm weekend around Thanksgiving. :-)

We have an Advent wreath, but haven't used it in past years with a toddler in the house, cause it's too chaotic. I know it's a little late, but I might try it this year.

The tree will probably go up this weekend.

Yes, of course! (And we were fortunate this year, weren't we?). Your approach sounds more like the one I am accustomed to. Perhaps this would be considered a "New England" Christmas?

I spent Thanksgiving Day decorating the house for Christmas. It takes so long to set things up, I want to enjoy them. Though with a grown daughter, I've cut back on so much of the commercialism. The Nativity sets are my precious jewels. And so are the Santas ;-D
