Celebration with regard to any part of Christ's life and ministry is quite unlikely to be displeasing to God ...
Luke 19:37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;

38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.

39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.

40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
Why ... we celebrate Jesus' life and ministry every week at the assembly.

Why should Christmas (i.e. a special celebration of His birth) ... be any different ?

I'm a Christian and celbrate Christmas. However I believe it has been way too commercialized. Too many people are worrying about gifts and feasting for the sake of gluttony. It's supposed to be about Jesus' birth and what a wonderful gift He was to mankind. If only more people would realize this it would be much better.

This is straight out of a Herbert W. Armstrong publication. Armstrong was certainly not a Christian. His sect denied the Trinity, and was a classic personality cult. I know... I was there.

Personally, I don't care what day Chrsit was born on. I am thankful that He chose to become as we are and that He willingly and lovingly gave His life as a sacrifice for my sins. I don't set aside 12/25 to celebrate His birth. For me, every day is a day of celebrating Him.

We keep Christmas because it brings joy to the world to commemorate the birth of Jesus. As with everything else, there is a right way and a wrong way to do this. Just because there are some who celebrate to excess does not mean that others can't keep Christmas in a way that is pleasing to God, emphasizing the deep spiritual blessings of Christmas instead of the material. To say that celebrating Christmas is wrong is to write an extra commandment that God did not give us. I suspect that appeals to those who can't stand seeing others enjoying this holy season, so they want to ruin it for everyone by writing depressing articles such as this.

Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

------------------------------------------------------------

Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord;
and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

I celebrate Christmas because it is good to do so. I don't need a better reason and I certainly don't need some wet blanket with his or her nose in a bible telling me it's wrong to do so.

A walk in the woods is not about lumber and a Christmas celebration is not about orthodoxy.

Live a little.

MAN #1:
I think it was 'Blessed are the cheesemakers.'

JESUS:
...right prevail.

MRS. GREGORY:
Ahh, what's so special about the cheesemakers?

GREGORY:
Well, obviously, this is not meant to be taken literally. It refers to any manufacturers of dairy products.

Douglas, I have not seen you in a long time. How have you been?

We do not celebrate a "religious" Christmas in our home, although we decorate, exchange gifts, bake cookies, etc. We celebrate belonging to Christ and the fact that he was born to die for us everyday of the year. I've never really been a big fan of setting apart one day a year to celebrate something about my Lord and savior.

Are you a part of the World Wide church of God?

Why Some Christians Don't Celebrate Christmas?

Because they are cheap and enjoy being self important.

Doug I think it only fair to point out the author of this article denies the trinity and believes in a salvation by law keeping.

No one is saved or lost based on his decision to celebrate Christmas or not we are saved by Gods mercy and grace, so those that want to celebrate it can do it with a clear conscience

Rom 8:1 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Rom 4:7 [Saying], Blessed [are] they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
Rom 4:8 Blessed [is] the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Rom 3:26 To declare, [I say], at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Rom 3:27 Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

To those that are the elect of God I wish a happy Christmas season to those that choose to celebrate it, to those that do not choose to I pray Gods best blessings on you and yours.
