I do not compare my beliefs with others. If there is a truth, then it is what it is, it doesn't need me to determine or decide it, even if I could. I just believe as God would have me believe.
I don't decide what is the truth.
Since I believe we are all part of God's plan, then what I believe, is what God wants me to believe. I make no determination, it is inherent is all of us.
I don't know, I'll have to wait until either my beliefs change, or I die.
It seems that for something to be the truth, it should be provable, to all, throughout the world and throughout history, without first requiring a belief that it is the truth....shouldn't it?
If I believed as you do, then it probably would be a great risk.
It would take the amount of proof necessary, to have convinced everyone, throughout history, that do not believe as you do. That amount, is unknown to me...but it should be provable, as I said, without the requirement to believe in something else, that is not provable.
Thank you, and please, if you ever find anything provable in all that we have talked about, let me know. People have been trying for a long time.
Merry Christmas
Check your facts the gnostic texts are estimated to be from the first century. As for heresy, the council of Nicea wasn't without fault, just the winners who wrote the story.
It is not unreasonable. You asked how much proof I required, and I told you.
It is that the proof is not sufficient. Don't you think, that after all the years that this discussion has been going on, if there were sufficient proof, then more people would believe, if not all? Please don't tell me that the devil is clouding mens minds, because I do not believe that. I believe that God is all powerful, and what He wants, is the way it is.
Whenever I have been offered proof in the past, it has been that God has said so. When I ask how one knows that, I am told that, that is what the bible says. This requires belief that the bible is the infallible word of God. I do not have that belief.
As you said, there is not enough proof, in the world...that should be a tip-off that there is no proof. You cannot make someone believe something that is not within them. If you have a different means of proof, please let me know.
This would be like reading the Gospel of John Kerry, just another traitor.
As we both agreed, there is not enough proof. You believe there is, I don't.
Proof, is proof...it should not require belief or a determination of any kind. If there was proof, that did not require a belief in something else that cannot be proven, then it would have been presented years ago.
Merry Christmas to you and yours also.
