Could be as interesting a read as the Gospel according to Mary.

The gnostic gospels I believe add alot to better see the history and early years rather than the edited version from the Council of Nicea.

They add absolutely nothing. These are documents very often written centuries after the events to promote a particular heresy. The only interest they could have for the Christian scholar is understand the substance of the particular heresy being propogated by the document.
