I saw that episode. My impression was that the scenes questioned here were unecessary to the topic of the story. The other parts were funny. The Virgin Mary part was not.

I certainly won't defend this episode, which indeed sounds vile and disgusting. But I'll say this for "South Park." Unlike most other shows, they don't single out Christianity for abuse, while honoring a host of sacred cows. They make fun of everyone. Which means that they're attacking the Church bothers me much less than it would coming from other quarters.

Amazing how people like him think everyone else humor-less if we object when our beliefs are attacked, but even a little passing reference to his posting name goes right through his very thin skin.
I think Catholics need to get a grip and stop thinking everyones out to get them. Start by cleaning up your own house.
I think the episode only took shots at those who flock to fluids from icons calling them miraculous. Beyond that, I didn’t catch that it was any more anti-Catholic that their parody of OBL in his cave or jihadists shooting down Santa was anti-Islam.
It’s South Park. They parody the fringe in everything.
They've made fun of Jesus from their beginning but no one complains about that.
For the love of God, I'm a Catholic and it didn't bother me in the least. Instead of freaking out about this stuff, we should be working against the Da Vinci Code movie or something IMPORTANT.

Unfortunately, the complaint is discredited by its association with a the professionally offended Bill Donohue, a man who could find anti-Catholic bias in sheep entrails.
