I'm not sure who said that such material would be divisive, or trolling. I don't doubt that there are some seriously disturbed anti-Catholics not only on this board but in the entire world.
Speaking for FR though, IMO, FR has become a much more receptive place for Catholics then when I first joined. I think it's important to note the level of civility from the average Protestant FReeper has risen dramatically in the last few years.
Just my two cents. And meant as a compliment to all the civil Protestants on here. I would even go so far as to say FR is more civil than most boards I've visited.
I agree. I think the "Jack Chick" Protestants washed out, and many of our more contentious Catholic members have also floated off to cause trouble elsewhere. We had one notorious liberal who provoked insane flame wars and even wrote to people privately - but finally, after a number of years of disruption, he appears to have been bounced. So now we are actually having decent, respectful discussions of real issues. What a pleasure!
Of course, the fact that Islam is hanging over our collective heads or breathing down our collective necks or whatever may have made a lot of people suddenly focus on the real enemy...
