Greetings,
I am not a worldly scholar, maybe if I was, I'd know the answer to this question. The question is, why are the jews hated by almost everyone??
I can understand the Islamic factor, heck, they don't like anyone. But why the mainstream of the left, and even some on the right? Why are they looked down upon?
My understanding is, there was a bit of a ruckuss back when they were givin Palistien(sp?) after WWII. But what is it that gives them the black eye these days? A black eye from those who never read the Bible or never go to church. A black eye from those who don't even enter religion into the reasoning.
Flames are welcome, keeps some threads going for a while anyway...
1) Jews want to be Jews. They (typically) do not assimilate. That annoyed the Roman Empire. It annoyed the Germans. Consequently, Jews "stick out" in any non-Jewish society and can become targets as being "different"
2) Jews value education and have strong moral values. Both characteristics can lead to success in life. People who are not successful sometimes look at the successful people and feel anger. Jealousy and antisemitism can be intertwined.
I don't dislike them.
Good points, thank you...
That's a good deal! They really don't give anyone any reason to dislike them, other than Clear Case's points...
Jews place their faith and trust in God alone; men who wish to rule (or think themselves gods, e.g. Hitler, Marx, Muhammad) have historically found this incompatible with their ambitions, and thus the existence of the Jews is intolerable to them.
For Bible believers, there is a satantic element to anti-Semitism as well. They are still God's chosen people, and Israel figures centrally in the final defeat of satan and the fallen ones, not to mention the antichrist. The spiritual dark side wars against the Jews because it is part of being an enemy of the God of Israel and His Word.
I am Catholic but what I am about to offer is more a personal theory and should not be taken as a Church doctrine. I do not think it is outside of Church doctrine either.
The Catholic Church is Israel (this is a mystical/spiritual state not a worldly government)
It is via the Catholic Church the 12 tribes of Israel were restored via the 12 Apostles. Many Christian Denominations hold similar views.
There is one tribe that is missing from the complete restoration and that is the Jews.
It is Catholic Doctrine that before the world is destroyed the Jews will convert. Many Christians hold this opinion as well but who they convert to is debated.
Satan will be defeated before the world ends and cast into the Abyss. Please notice the similar time line.
While I do not know how far apart this last too will occur but I do think the two are near enough linked together to cause Satan some worries.
All through history there have been forces that have been trying to kill off the Catholic Church and also forces that have hated the Jews, wishing them destroyed as well.
I think there is a reason for this and I think Satan sees a need to take out one or the other. I think history supports this idea of mine.
It is also one of the reasons I do not like to see the Jews mistreated or falsely accused even by other Catholic. Not that there is not legitimate reasons for some complaints but the violent words and actions is like one brother mistreating his sibling rival. It is not Christian, we are told not to hate our brother.
As to way the Jews over all others? Well it is just that person listening to his devil more than his guardian Angel. That person is just another solder in Satans army if they but knew it.
This is a religious heavy rational and will not be accepted by all. I do not think a more secular and worldly explanation works because no matter what reasons are given there is ample evidence of other groups that fit that description and do not harbor the same response from others. I think something else must be involved.
I think the underlying reason is that Jews seem to always view themselves as historical victims. So when others treat them that way, its a self fulfilling prophecy of sorts.
Beyond that, it doesn't help that the Jewish community is so insular. If those those within that community end up doing well financially (partly as a result of that insularity), they make easy targets for the have nots by the next demagogue that comes along (eg. Hitler).
And, what is the reason IYO, that Satan wants to turn Christians and Jews against each other?
Understood...
Sorry, but if you know enough to type in fairly good English it's hard for me to believe that you are as clueless as you are. Adding the third party of your "wife" just increases my scepticism. I believe most posters here will believe you are just a lurker looking for a juicy answer to post on DU.
Each worships the same God.
The God of Abraham and Isaac.
As long as they continue to do that, Satan is left out in the cold.
Somewhat along the same lines as Democrats instigating class/race warfare.
Have everyone fighting each other and focused on their differences while paying little attention to what unites them.
Piss off d*** head...
Jealousy, easy scapegoat, xenophobia.
Agreed...
Now if you want to ask a really good question try this one:
Why is it that you never see a homeless Jew? The Bible makes many references to beggars and the poor but one never seems to encounter one of their number who is Jewish.
My Dad's words of advice from years ago: Never bet against a Jew in business or in a battle.
