Dear Tax-Chick,
If we were ever to meet in person, it would take you Hours to figure me out because except for my skin color there is nothing "INDIAN" about me.
While, living in Georgia it took less than 48 hours to get accustomed to living in the United States or in the Southern United States. I still miss Georgia a lot.
I not only miss Georgia and the Southern United States but specially Southern Culture that exists in the countryside as well as in some of the smaller counties.
If your eyes have not already popped out at what I have already said "CHECK THIS OUT".
I feel like an Alien in India simply because culturally I have nothing in common with mainstream Indian Culture.
I can even imitate a "RED NECK ACCENT" from North and South Georgia as I had a number of friends from both parts of Georgia.
My favorite country music station is
http://98country.com -- Saint Cloud's Country Music Station from Central Minnesota.
I am also a Big Fan of the Bull Dog University Football Team at the University of Georgia having attended many of their matches 5 -6 years back.
I am a hard core Country Music and Blue Grass Gospel fan and I have been listening to Classic Country Music from the age of 15 specifically all the hits of Kenny Rogers and Merle Haggard and all this in Bombay, India.
All I can say that it runs in the Family.
My favorite artistes are George Strait, Alan Jackson, Clint Black, Lone Star, Montgomery Gentry, Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Leann Rhimes,Tim McGraw, and Martina McBride to mention a few.
However, Classic Music and Sacred Choral Music has been my first love from the age of 7. I love the compositions of Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven, and Mozart.
My favorite compositions are "Fur Elise" composed by Beethoven, "Liebestraum" composed by Liszt, and the "Coronation Mass" as well as "Eine Kleine Nacht Musik" composed by Mozart.
The fact is that I was born and raised in an extremely weternized family in Bombay, India and my family has deep roots in Classical as well as Sacred Choral Music.
My family is also orthodox with regard to the Catholic Faith. We have been Catholic for 430 years. Our ancestors were converted to Catholicism by zealous Portuguese Missionaries in the 16th century in Goa.
In Goa, we still have the incorrupt body of Saint Francis Xavier which is kept in a casket at a famous Cathedral.
I learnt the violin at the age of 11 and love the compositions of all the violinists too.
More Later,
In Christ
