Can't vouch for the site this comes from.
This article just seemed, I don't know... sad.
Buncha phonies. "Jedi" my @ss. Even if it wasn't just fiction, calling yourself a member of a warrior class doesn't make you one. Just like all these folks who practice tai chi not realizing what they think they are practicing was once a deadly art form, that would have washed out 99% of them on day one of training.
Please do not use potty language or references to it on the Religion Forum.
"Christianity is the myth most embraced in the West"
Theological moron... meet brick wall.
Brick wall... meet theological moron.
OK.
This is not the religion you are looking for....(slowly moves hand)
Wicca...Jedi...
I think some people (total geeks) are just looking for a perpetual Renaissance Fair.
I agree, this whole thing is rather pathetic, like these odd souls who go around translating Shakespeare into Klingon. Is this ideology going to go anywhere in the next 50 years? Of course, there also exists the Church of PRESLEYtarism, so who who can say....
That's one response for all those jokers who say that Pope Benedict looks like Emperor Palpatine! The difference is that Papa's on the good side.
Not that I'm one of them (I am certainly not), but those souls who spend their time translating Shakespeare and the Bible into Klingon are doing themsleves far more service than they would by pretending to be Jedis. At least they are sitting down and scrutinizing Shakespeare and the Bible.
I guess if Scientology can be a religion, so can being a Jedi.

"Jedi" my colt, the foal of a donkey. ;^D
(Please don't zot me, Religion Moderator, I'm only having fun... I do agree with the policy.)
My sister got a kick out of reading my Greek-to-English word-for-word translation of the New Testament: "Jesus sounds like Yoda in Greek"
Commedienne Judy Tenuta wanted there to be a religion worshipping her as a goddess (Yes, Roseanne Barr-Arnold-Formerly-known-as-Prince stole the domestic goddess bit that landed her her own TV show from Judy Tenuta!).
Ms. Tenuta wanted it to be called "Judyism."
You wanna talk sad? This dates back to 1977, and author Frank Allnut tries to argue that the first "Star Wars" movie is actually an allegory for Christianity.
My dad used to talk about starting a religion around making whiskey and stealing cars. It probably would have caught on, too ...
It's also over a year old. Wasn't complete obscurity a better fate than being brought back up long after everyone stopped caring even about the material from which it stole its reason for being?
Well at least in Jedi heaven you will get 72 virgins. The downside is that they will all be 300 pound pasty faced nerds.
