No, it is not allowed. The only individual that is allowed to give the homily at mass is a bishop, priest, or deacon. You might want to mention this to your pastor in a nice way. If he blows you off, you might want to call your local bishop's office.

A woman did the sermon at my Mass this Sunday. A SERMON, not talking about her work with the poor and asking for money, but a SERMON.
This is the second one she's done when the pastor has been away, but I'm sure he knows and supports it. Is this OK in the Catholic Church?
No. Only an ordained priest or deacon my preach the Homily.
Having women deliver the Homily was a common occurrence at the chapel at a local university.
The pastor was allowing this to be done under the umbrella of "inclusion."
...probably also as a method of acculturating college kids into accepting priestesses.
Guess what the topic of the "homilies" were about?....
Women priestesses! Women being denied the opportunity to serve....whine, whine, whine.
If the pastor won't stop it, write a letter to the Bishop and send it certified.
If that doesn't stop the practice, send a copy to the Papal Nuncio.

Yes, women have no place in the church. Fortunately, no one told Mother Teresa, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Elizabeth Seaton, Hildagard of Bingan, St. Teresa of Avila....St. Mary.

You know exactly why. She cannot make a political statement if she does.

only a priest or deacon can give a sermon...
The "priestless parishes" run by PC nuns are being used as a way to slide in the idea that women can be priests...
They could find deacons to run the parishes, but usually deacons are believing Catholics. Too often, PC nuns are the ones who are feminist wiccans who ran off the real nuns twenty years ago...

I have written to the Archbishop about this......I fear what he will answer. Lesbian/Liberal nuns are the camel's nose in the tent to try to be priestesses.

I did send a letter to the Archbishop. The priest's asst. told me it wasn't a homily, it's called a "reflection". She said the nun was a very holy woman and I wasn't and then hung up on me!! This is a very dangerous road these women are going down.

Sounds like a typical Leftist....doesn't address the complaint, calls you unholy and redefines the word "homily" to mean "reflection."
They're betting that you won't go any further with this.
When we had abuses here, a priest instructed me to write to the Papal Nuncio in Washington, D.C. So, I called the diocese and asked the Chancellor for some comment and their side of the story for the letter to the Papal Nuncio.
The abuses stopped.
