But I agree, she portrays a troubled person.

Apparently, in the skits and sketches on the show, <<

Is she expressing her views of the Pope, or is she playing a character? If she's expressing her own views, then I'd guess I can only criticize the writing for not making that clear.

Incidentally, I have no problem with her criticizing the anorexia culture; that seems a bizarre thing to throw into such an artice: Charlotte calls the Pope a Nazi, and Hollywood actresses skinny...?

Dear dangus,

In that this is a talk show, and she is the host, either the characters she plays represent her perspectives, or she is at least acquiescing to these portrayals because she believes they'll be entertaining or amusing.

She calls herself a Catholic, but she seems to have a problem with the Magisterium.

The Voice of an Angel told The Sun: "I'm from a Catholic family. But I don't like this new Pope - he even wants to ban Harry Potter. He says it's because it's full of witchcraft and other bad stuff." She added: "If he bothered to sit down and read it, he'd understand the morals of it.

And if Charlotte bothered to sit down and read her catechism for the first time, she'd understand the morals of it too.

This isn't a really breaking news here... It's just a classic post child-star fall from grace ala Danny Bonaduce. What IS different is her anti-Catholic jump the shark moment played out across the tabloids. If she really believed the Eucharist was the body of our Lord, acting or no acting, she would never have denigrated it. And to trash the religious orders of her own Church by ridiculing a nun on tv is something else. We expect this nonsense from Bill Maher, he sold his soul and that's his shtick, but this is a woman who was raised to her high station in life by the musical treasures of the Church she now spits on. Ignatius Press has the best suggestion-pray for her

False dichotomy! The real question is, did she choose to play this character so as to express her views of the Pope?
