"This is very difficult for the heterosexual priests in the archdiocese"
Isn't a "heterosexual" [instead of celibate] priest a gross misnomer?

No. "Celibate" is not a sexual preference, it is a commitment, a sacrifice. Priests are just as human as any of us, and being "asexual", which is more what you are getting at, I think, is not required or desirable. OTOH, homosex is a disordered condition, and NOT something that is desirable in a Roman Catholic priest.

"Heterosexual" is a tautology. It just means a man who is inwardly aware of normal sexual attraction to women.

In the Western Church, a priest should be normal, unmarried and chaste (celibate.)

In the Eastern Church, a priest should be normal, married, and chaste (monogamous.)(Or unmarried, as above.)
