The murder of Father Coyle was a murder, never a praiseworthy act. To try to tie Luther and Calvin to this murder stretches your argument. Didn't our Lord say that there were people who would call him, "Lord, Lord," but he never knew? Didn't Paul note that there were people who would have a semblance of godliness but deny the substance?
Yes, we Protestants do not believe in the headship of the Roman Catholic Church or the papacy; we do believe in a catholicity of all believers under the Headship of Christ. The point is not "What do you think of the papacy?" but "What do you think of Christ?"
