That is not a STUDY that is a TEACHING that requires nothing more of the hearers than to swallow what is taught whole and without thinking or discernment.

When you were a student being taught, it required no thought on your part?

You have an interseting way of looking at things.

Go to a protestant service. People take off their coats as an indication they intend to stay and pay some attention .

I take off my coat every Sunday. Some older people feel more cold. This is a ridiculous thing to judge upon.

You can't think with a coat on? Please.

It is the Primary and greatest way to test all teachings and doctrines. It is the place where God has chosen to reveal Himself to men, it is where you learn about Gods character and attributes.

I see. You think the Bible is the Word of God.

Jesus is the Word of God. It's a common misconception.

I think the word of God is the word of God, or do you deny the innerency of scripture?

Luk 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Luk 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Luk 8:21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

Act 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Without the word of God you can not know the Word of God in any meaningful way.If it makes you feel good to think that there is no need or command to read the scriptures go ahead , but know that the god you kneel before might just not be the God of Scripture.
