It's a gratuitous insult to a particular group. I didn't think we allowed that at FR. (Unless it's liberals, of course. :) )

Gratuitous insults to entire confessions are common in religious debates. Many times it is naive - sometimes it is mean spirited.

Those who make gratuitous insults do more harm to their own confession than to the one they seek to ridicule. Conversely, members of the one being ridiculed by making a kind hearted reply give a solid testimony in favor of their own confession.

That is the way the game is played in the religious sector of the town square.
