Protestants waltz through life in 3/4 time, praying to God the Father in the name of God the Son inthe power of God the Holy Spirit. Our Catholic brothers keep trying to shoehorn a fourth party into this waltz and add goddess the mother to the equation.

How many times can you post this statement verbatim? You've been told many times that we do not consider Mary a goddess or make our Trinity into a quartet. You refuse to even grant that, which makes discussion of Mariology and its effect on Protestant-Catholic relations an impossibility.

Still, I speak as one who's seen the devotional apparatus around the BVM up close and personal. In practice, if not in theory, Mary is viewed as an alternate channel of grace, an alternate way of doing business with heaven. If God won't answer your prayers, talk to His mother! More than one catholic family replicates this pattern, of irate unapproachable father, whose authority is continuously eroded by overly solicitous mother.
