As a Lutheran, I envy the Anglican Communion because of its (at least theoretical) mutual respect and accountability. Traditional Anglican members of TEC can rightly claim allegience to a higher entity and seek oversite from the orthodox components of that entity; ie, the African Primates.
The Lutheran World Federation is not even remotely parallel, and besides, it is headed by the same ultra liberal who serves as Presiding Bishop of the ELCA.
