To: Bitter Bierce

Yes, we had a lengthy discussion on this several months ago. Sadly, there are still diocese in the US (mine included) that are run by liberal bishops who seek to contemporize the Catholic Church, at the expense of those who seek only to worship our Lord in a reverent manner. For years, I sought the genesis of these appointments until I stumbled upon an aticle about Archbisho Jean Jadot that clarified his recommendations of candidates who shared his liberal views. These included Cardinal Mahony, and so many of the usual suspects. I had planned to point you to that article but just noticed that it has been removed from the Internet. Hmmmm.

Sorry I missed it, NYer. So much for Bishop Brown's claim, at the time he was introduced to his new California flock in 1998, that his views were "middle of the road," eh? Seriously, though, can anything be done about that particular blatant violation of Canon law?
