Sola Scriptura is about as Biblical as what the Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses believe. That's a nice way to set the tone for the thread.
Congratulations.

Bravo, JDeM!Are you complimenting him on his choice of articles or on his backhanded slap against Mormons and Jehovah's witnesses?

So you can criticize the beliefs of others while not revealing your own. Interesting. Based on prior encounters, I am reasonably sure I know what sect you associate with and can understand why you wish to remain hidden. But then, maybe I am wrong.

Perhaps we are talking at odds here, the question I posed was what denomination is the Church you attend, not the particular name or place. (Southern Baptist for example, as opposed to Park Street Southern Baptist in Tupelo, MS.)

I am not a member any denomination. I am a Christian added to the Church by the Holy Spirit when I obeyed the gospel and underwent full immersion water baptism. I associate with a non-denominational church of Christ where others that believe in a similar manner attend. We discuss Scripture, and don't always agree. However, we all DO agree that the Bible is the only authority afforded man by God to correctly understand His will.

Wasn't even thinking of Mormons or JWs.

Bless you, Joseph DeMaistre, for the bold initiative to step forward on this topic. Catholics who enjoy solid apologetics should find this thread to be truly illuminating.

We discuss Scripture, and don't always agree. However, we all DO agree that the Bible is the only authority afforded man by God to correctly understand His will. There are those Christians who reject the authority of the Roman Catholic Church, who have turned to Scripture and found NO prohibition against homosexuality. In essence, they believe that they can have their sin and their salvation, too. What would you say to them?

Catholics who enjoy solid apologetics should find this thread to be truly illuminating.Provided they are willing to accept his "creative" interpretations of Scripture, unfounded leaps to conclusions, and initial assumption of RCC dogma rather than Scriptural integrity.

It's somewhat disturbing to realize that anytime I want to get into an argument, all I have to do is pick any open Catholic thread.
