Just another comment...I live near the Pennsylvania Dutch country and the "Plain people". The Amish Bishops are very resistant to change not so much for what it might do to the present community, but for what it might do to the children of their grandchildren. They have admitted to some trusted "English" (non-Amish who have gained the acceptance of their community) that they might be able to accept using a tractor with steel wheels in the fields, "but our children will want a tractor with rubber tires, our grandchildren will want to take it into town, and our great grandchildren will want an automobile". So there still are no tractors in Amish fields, even with steel wheels.
