I am going to state another point of view, he was not struck dead because of "birth control" "withdrawal", he was struck dead because he violated a direct order from God about inheritance and first born children.

There are several problems with that:

• No such order is recorded in Scripture prior to Gen 38
• When the order is given, after the exodus, the penalty for disobeying it is not death, but public humiliation. The Mosaic Law invariably enacts harsher penalties than were in place before, not weaker ones.
• Judah also violates the "levirate law," by not giving his younger son Shela to Tamar (Gen 38:14), but he is not struck dead.

Agree on your points here but consider while Mosaic law gave stricter penalties (some 35 capital statutes), the Sermon on the Mount raises the standard very high. Instead of getting by with being a "non-murderer" Christ says you can't get angry without a cause. Instead of being a "non-adulterer" Christ says you can't lust in your heart. So, Christ teaches us about the spirit of the law.

Euteneuer is patting himself on the back by being a non-IUD/non-drug-pill promoter but he violates the spirit of God's law by showing hundreds and thousands of Catholics how to AVOID children at a better rate than artificial methods.
