"Whoever provided the quote you plagiarized probably thought the hour hands of clocks are motionless because he could not see them move."- hmmm. The author of that quote was counted among the most learned people of his time and was credited with encyclopedic [for his times] knowledge. And for your benefit, quoting with attribution provided is not plagiarizing. Plagiarizing is to quote the others' stuff as one's own, and attributing it to one's own smarts and effort.

When you first made the statement you gave no indication that it was not yours -- no quote marks, nothing of the kind. Some posts later, after challenges, you attributed it to either Mencken or Bierce, of whom you now say "The author of that quote was counted among the most learned people of his time and was credited with encyclopedic [for his times] knowledge." So I'll compromise and offer "briefly maintained plagiarism"

"THE author"? Both were pretty cool guys.

Uh, you didn't give attribution till you were called on it, Slobo, so I call plaigerizing.
