Because some members of the Catholic Center Party voted for the Enabling Act does not mean Pacelli forced them to, any more than it means Pacelli forced some members of the other parties to vote for it. To claim that is just silly.

And I guess it was just silly that immediately after the Enabling Act was passed, the Vatican lifted its prohibition against Catholics joining the Nazi Party???

Was that for the benefit of those traitorous elements in the CCP --- the ones who had just sold out their party and their country?

Was that prohibition lifted so that those traitors could now be rewarded for their treachery with Nazi Party membership???

Hitler's rise to power was NOT accomplished by the Enabling acts.

Wrong --- the Enabling Acts made it a "fait accompli".

Wrong --- the Enabling Acts made it a "fait accompli".

It was a fait accompli after the Reichstag Fire Decree was signed February 28:

The decree consisted of six articles. Article 1 suspended most of the civil liberties set forth in the Weimar Constitution — freedom of the person, freedom of expression, freedom of the press, the right of free association and public assembly, the secrecy of the post and telephone, not to mention the protection of property and the home. Articles 2 and 3 allowed the Reich government to assume powers normally reserved to the federal states (Länder). Articles 4 and 5 established draconian penalties for certain offenses, including the death penalty for arson to public buildings. Article 6 simply stated that the decree took effect on the day of its proclamation.

In fact, I'm not sure you even understand the proper definition and use of fait accompli.

Zero tolerance on this slanderous thread would mean immediate deletion. You mean zero tolerance for defenders of the Roman Catholic Church.

How would you have worded it to meet your guidelines?

Perhaps something like this: "The clip from Shirer doesn't support what you said [here] and [there]."
