Well, good for you.

Funny that soooooo many Christians get their kicks by Catholic bashing, and posting anti-Catholic articles.......I bet NO Catholic freeper posts anti-Presbyterian articles....do they??? One doesn't bother with something that doesn't mean anything to them.

get out

The Lord has not released me yet. He might, but it appears that He requires faithfulness of the remnant within the churches of Pergamum & Thyatira (both similar to the UMC.) Look this up in Rev 2 & 3....you'll see that He doesn't counsel...DEPART!

However, he does mention to the church of Ephesus that He DOES remove candlesticks. In other words, the Lord lets us know when HE closes a church. He won't keep it open if there is NO LIGHT being sent to the world. Without light, they have no need of a candlestick.

There are shining examples of light being shed forth in our region, and other regions in the US and Africa/Asia/SAmerica, but I know that there are areas where the light that is shed is darkness. I am sorry for the area where you live that apostasy has so taken hold. I do not dispute that.

I’ve never heard of this law before. In any case, when the glove fits, glove fits.

I don’t have anti-rcc views. I disagree with a lot of rcc doctrine.

“His roots were Catholic, that was his moral foundation. He hated Jews because his church taught him to...”
So the KKK Presbyterians hated blacks because their church taught them to?

In too many cases YES. White Supremacy was taught in many of the Southern churches as biblical going back to the children of Noah .

We are all products of the moral instruction of our youth. Some of us grow up and learn that were falsely taught, but not all. Those are the bigots and racists and yes the anti Semites

Ish. Your grasp of history needs to be...refreshed? Instructed? I am absolutely at a loss for words for this one. Not only did I have a Lutheran German grandmother, I had Jewish German relatives who fortunately got out prior to 1939. I can assure you, the Catholic church isn’t the reason Hitler gassed the Jews.

What was the reason for his gut hatred of anything not "arian " and "perfect" that led to his insane mission?

Politely, I ask, do you think perhaps your hatred of the Catholic Church is coloring your view a bit too much? You may want to use some reason in viewing history.

It is too easy to point to someone and dismiss their words as based on "hatred" and then think you have taken the high ground.

Actually I have often thanked God I was born to a Catholic family and raised with a Catholic education. That education gave me a good foundation on the basics of the Christian faith that when I was saved I had to build on.

I feel sorry for people saved from atheists or non Christian families. They have to build from the ground up.

I have many friends and family that are catholic, I do not hate them.

I do hate deception, and where I think there is deception in doctrine I will speak up, not out of hatred but for the love of Christ.

I did not start this discussion on hitler look else where for that

By the grace of God, Protestant ministers have their plates full with preaching the Gospel in faith and truth to all those with ears to hear.

Pastor xzins ably demonstrates his love of the word and the indwelling Holy Spirit in his Christian walk every day.

The fact that being pro-Scripture and pro-Jesus Christ is seen as anti-Catholic is the RCC's problem.

anti-presbyterian

If this thread is anti-Catholic because it tells the story of a Catholic who converted to Presbyterian/Reformed, then is any thread that mentions a Presbyterian becoming a Catholic therefore an anti-Presbyterian thread?

“Martin Luther views on the Jews are described as racial or religious anti-Semitism, [1] or as anti-Judaism. [2] In his treatise Von den Juden und ihren Lügen (On the Jews and their Lies), published in 1543, he wrote that Jews’ synagogues should be set on fire, prayerbooks destroyed, rabbis forbidden to preach, homes “smashed and destroyed,” property seized, money confiscated, and that these “poisonous envenomed worms” be drafted into forced labor or expelled “for all time.” [3] He also appeared to sanction their murder: [4] “Jerusalem was destroyed over 1400 years ago, and at that time we Christians were harassed and persecuted by the Jews throughout the world ... So we are even at fault for not avenging all this innocent blood of our Lord and of the Christians which they shed for 300 years after the destruction of Jerusalem ... We are at fault in not slaying them.” [5]

British historian Paul Johnson has called On the Jews and their Lies the “first work of modern anti-Semitism, and a giant step forward on the road to the Holocaust.” [6] Four centuries after it was written, the Nazis cited Luther’s treatise to justify the Final Solution.”http://www.answers.com/topic/martin-luther-and-the-jews

Ouch. When I come to think of it, I’d have been one of those rounded up as “impure blood.” Eek! Ein Juden!

Not every conversion thread (going either direction) is implicitly anti-anything. This one is more anti-Catholic because of the posters here than because of the letter itself. Please see my post 116.
