We shouldn't be TOO hard on our Methodist friends. Their prevenient grace is rather nice.

I think you are lying. You are a bitter, bitter little man.I am sorry for you Suzy.
You can not discern the truth when it is spoken to you

There is nothing that prevents any of us from being polite. Agreed. I think all of us (myself included) need to remember that.
I dont think that you see the hard words in the rcc conversion testimonies. They are so rcc to rccs that they dont realize how cutting they are to a non-rcc.
That actually doesn't surprise me. When one's faith is challenged, even gently, it is painful. Scott Hahn's conversion caused many hard feelings at his undergraduate Alma Mater (which is very Calvinist). He spoke there about two years ago for the first time since his conversion.
But that doesn't change the one point that I mentioned in 116. The converts' tone is very important. It is very rare for the convert to Catholicism (at least the ones that I've seen here or on EWTN) to speak badly about their former churches; on the contrary, many cite their time in Protestant churches (some are 'reverts' to Catholicism) positively because it was there that they first truly believed in Christ, where they learned Scripture, etc.

The RCC has shown time and again that any criticism of its practices will be viewed as a criticism of individuals.
Not a very efficient method of debate. In fact, it practically ends the debate before it's even begun.
The article that heads this thread is a terrific example of a man listing very specific points of departure he has with the RCC. Each point he supports with Scripture.
Unlike the thread about James White's sister, an RC convert who managed to say nothing specific in her entire discourse, but spent the bulk of her essay once again simply complaining "these guys are anti-Catholic."

By the grace of God, Protestant ministers have their plates full with preaching the Gospel in faith and truth to all those with ears to hear. Pastor xzins ably demonstrates his love of the word and the indwelling Holy Spirit in his Christian walk every day.
The fact that being pro-Scripture and pro-Jesus Christ is seen as anti-Catholic is the RCC's problem.Amen

And the rape victim was just asking for it. LOL. That's called hyper-emotional deflection when a sound argument is nowhere to be found.

No answer huh?
Even the deluded started their delusions somewhere. Catholics can never risk admitting a flaw lest the entire tower fall down.
It is good to be free of that burden
God does not answer the prayers of the unsaved. Are you saved? If not please do not bother :)

Check with anyone, and you will find that John Knox did not found the Methodist church. Im sure thats just one of those things you have missed in previous posts, so well just let it pass. They just do not know any real reformation history.
I had one Catholic tell me Luther left the church because he wanted to divorce his wife.
They are kept ignorant

The article that heads this thread is a terrific example of a man listing very specific points of departure he has with the RCC. Each point he supports with Scripture. And converts to Catholicism have done likewise in a number of cases. Salvation has a good list of them (that she may or may not have posted here on this thread).
Every one of this gentleman's complaints has been answered already; they are the same old tired arguments against the Church.

No, he is not responsible for the thoughts of others... but he IS responsible for EVERY item on HIS SITE. I see no place for viewers to post anything, nor a disclaimer such as the one here on FR.Psss that is NOT HIS SITE..that was my point

That's called hyper-emotional deflection when a sound argument is nowhere to be found.I searched your post over and over, but found none. Thanks for the confirmation.
Nonetheless, your pathetic self-justification of unprovoked attack has been duly noted.

Oh Methodist....sorry I confused you with the other anti-Catholic ears-to-hear. Methodism was founded by John and Charles Wesley and George Whitefield in Oxford, England in 1729!! Wow...since 1729!! Your sect isnt quite 300 yet.Good googling cover, but we know you did not know that til he called you on it.. gee be honest . You learned something new today
To: ears_to_hear
Point made... I misunderstood what you were actually discussing. I thought you were already discussing the site in general. The site does contains some material that is markedly anti-Catholic. In my opinion, that reduces the credibility of everything on the site.
But I'll still try to read the discussion more carefully next time.

Protestants believe to assign a sinless nature to anyone other than Jesus Christ is a grave error.
Nowhere in Scripture is Mary referred to as anything other than a devoted mother of the man, Jesus Christ.
Christ even corrects those who sought to assign her some unique position...
"And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it." -- Luke 11:27-28

your pathetic self-justification of unprovoked attack has been duly noted. Once again, any criticism of RCC doctrine is seen as a personal "attack."
