Barack Obama, Religious Hypocrite
the Post Chronicle ^ | July 7, 2007 | J. Grant Swank, Jr.

Posted on 07/02/2007 2:23:03 PM PDT by tnarg

Senator Barack Obama is one of the leading candidates who parades as a compassionate Christian. He is just the opposite.

Per AP, Obama "told a church convention Saturday that some right-wing evangelical leaders have exploited and politicized religious beliefs in an effort to sow division."

Of course, Obama will target as the religious hypocrites the evangelicals. They are the church's nuisance. They are the bothersome crew. They are the cloistered, self-centered cads who are clogging up the righteous spout.

The truth is that United Church of Christ member Obama is true to his theologically liberal Protestant denomination, but he is abhorrent in the sight of God.

God does not permit practicing homosexuality. God does not condone killing womb babies. God champions the bond of marriage, the latter uniting male and female. God champions life, not murder; therefore, God's heart grieves at every abortion.

Obama not only endorses abortion, he endorses most enthusiastically and without hesitation partial birth abortion, that method that spikes a poker into a live baby's skull when the baby is outside the female's womb. That is devilment. That is gross evil. That is barbarism.

"'Somehow, somewhere along the way, faith stopped being used to bring us together and started being used to drive us apart. It got hijacked,' the Democratic presidential candidate said in remarks prepared for delivery before the national meeting of the United Church of Christ.

"'Part of it's because of the so-called leaders of the Christian Right, who've been all too eager to exploit what divides us,' the Illinois senator said.

"'At every opportunity, they've told evangelical Christians that Democrats disrespect their values and dislike their church, while suggesting to the rest of the country that religious Americans care only about issues like abortion and gay marriage, school prayer and intelligent design,' according to an advance copy of his speech."

Obama knew he was "preaching to the choir." Those seated in front of him endorse the sin which he supports. These persons have no regard for divine revelation. They instead write their own religion and then call it "Christian truth."

It is not biblical truth. It is man-made fabrication which permits disobeying God conveniently. Obama is at the front of the line when it comes to undercutting God's revealed ethic and he knows it.

Sweet-voiced Obama puts on a Christ-face of sorts. He says he is concerned about poverty, education and lifting the living standards of all Americans.

How can that be? Obama turns his face against the poor child in mother's womb. He educates the young to have sex outside marriage and have sex with the same gender. He lowers the nation's ethical standards with his religious show that is directly contrary to God's will.

"'I don't know what Bible they're reading, but it doesn't jibe with my version,'" Obama piously declared to his listeners.

That's where Obama reveals himself as being filled with other than the Holy Spirit. He has given himself away as a betrayer, a Judas in the camp. He writes his own divine writ and calls it "the Bible." His "version" is surely the liberal take on a religion other than posited within the time-honored Old and New Testaments.

Mr. Obama, may I ask you a serious question: What version do you have which you yourself name ‘the Bible' for it certainly has no liking to what the rest of us biblical believers are reading for doctrinal insight.

"In 1972, the church was the first to ordain an openly gay man. Two years ago, the church endorsed same-sex marriage, the largest Christian denomination to do so. Obama believes that states should decide whether to allow gay marriage, and he opposes a constitutional amendment against it.

I have a friend who is an extreme liberal. She absolutely seethes when she speaks of those horrible “Evangelicals” whom she calls the real terrorists. It sounds as though Christians are going to be quite the target in this election. I pray for her daily, and hope that someday soon, she gives her life to Christ. She is 80 years old!

The basic take that the left is doing on religion i that they can take about God, they can quote the Bible and they can like Hillary Clinton did thank the Almighty. But if republicans do any of that then its a rebirth of McCarthyism, a chill wind and of course a violation of church and state. It’s just another example of how the left tries to silence conservatives.

Recall how Dems love to preaching especially from black church pulpits, gloating to the “Amens,” and then consider that legitimate.

But let anyone other than a Dem do the same regarding God, church, Bible quotes, etc., and that person is silenced as quickly as possible.

Yes it is sad, as you state.

I learned a long time ago that being elderly does not necessarily exhibit a gentle spirit.

Unfortunately, elder years can be quite dark in attitude and demeanor. Many times the elder years are formed by the attitude when younger.

She is very bitter, and very lonely. It is sad. In our little community, she is disliked by most everyone. I have befriended her trying to show her that God’s love is real and reaching out to her.
