I lived in Albany, New York for several years, and I’ve been living in Los Angeles for several years. Believe me, Mahony is worse than Hubbard...much worse. Mahony is smarter than Hubbard, so he accomplishes much more than Hubbard ever could. For example, the abomination that passes for a Catholic Cathedral in Los Angeles — the “Rog Mahal†— never could have been built in Albany because Hubbard would never have maneuvered around local Catholics as skillfully as Mahony did. In any case, I look forward to the day when both cities have new bishops!
