My guess is because it never happened — just showman Mahony figuring he needs the “sympathy vote” just about now. Isn’t the abuse thing heating up again in LA?

So why is this story being released now? Presumably so the adulation of Mahony expressed in this article could be timed to coincide with the settlement he negotiated.

He just went public with it. I hope the Lord gives this man the opportunity to think deeply about his very real part in this scandal and his soul. And I would love for the Pope to replace him asap.
