A Scots Presbyterian worked for me for many years. She never did much for Christmas. New Years Day was the big holiday for her family when they gathered in someone's home to celebrate.
I knew that the English Puritans didn't celebrate Christmas, but I never thought about the Scots. Now I understand why she never made a fuss about Christmas. By the way, whe was the hardest working and most trustworthy employee I ever had. I wish I had a dozen like her, but I never found anybody with her sense of work and decication.
