That is exactly what is happening. The Marxists take over an institution and then purge the institution of non-Marxists and then they use what is left of the institution to further communist causes. But it won't stop there. They won't allow independent, non-Marxist institutions to exist. Eventually clergymen who refuse to bless gay "marriages" or who in other ways support traditional Christian doctrines will be imprisoned for "hate crimes." In ten years, there will be Stalinist show trials in at least the UK and Canada.
Tell his Unholiness he doesn’t have the authority to do this.
Wow...what a wonderful ecumenical gesture. A bishop gleefully sending his best priests off to Continuing Anglicanism, the Southern Cone, Rome, Orthodoxy, and evangelical churches.
And only keeping the dregs of rank heresy for himself. That’s charity my friends!
;)
That's an interesting question. Can a bishop just make up and decree whatever doctrine or practice he wants, as if the church is his own private property? Can he just arbitrarily champion any crazy idea without an examination of church doctrine? Without priests or church members voting on it? Without some church council defining the issue? Can Bishop Yahoo, say, make up anything and fire any priest who refuses to comply? I know this is the left's idea of "dialog."
This is not Catholic bashing because all denominations seem to have their heretics but the Catholic church has plenty of liberals working from within to undermine sound doctrine. Outside forces will not be any worse.
I’ve been wondering ... do the priests and bishops who leave automatically lose their pension benefits?
That seems very harsh as most private companies have provisions for employees to become ‘vested’ and receive the pensions earned whether they leave or not.
If such an ultimatum is delivered, what will the orthodox remnant do?
1. It looks like ELCA and other “mainline” revisionists have a different idea of Great Lent, Holy Week, and Pascha from traditionalist Christians. Fortunately, Orthodox Holy Week and Pascha are much later this year, so they can’t spoil them!!!!
2. Yes, the Augsburg Confession is against invocation of the saints. But I believe that somewhere in the Book of Concord, it says that the saints pray for us. (A “dangerous” book, that Book of Concord!) So that Orthodox Pope of Rome, St. Gregory the Great, will be praying for us.
3. The real “gay” danger in rhe ELCA after 2009 is the potential legal pressure from states that allow same-sex “civil unions” or “marriage” on traditionalist priests/pastors in denominations that officially allow officiating at such events to officiate at them, even though they do not want to. That may even apply before then, in synods whose “bishops” allow or wink at such “blessings”.
But with another year and a half (until the next CWA) of living under “ELW”, as well as the increasing amount all sorts of other heresy and just plain garbage (such as the substandard “scholarship” in “The Book of Faith” project), there will be much else to vex traditionalist ELCA pastors, bishops, and laity.
These miscreants are more Gramscian than straight Marxist.
But what they really are is international (globalist) fascists. That is why Soros and the other international hedge fund magnates are supporting them—as well as Hillary and/or Obama.
