Thank you all so very much for your kind words and prayers. I hope and pray that the girl stood up to her mother and did what is right. When I last talked to her, she told me she wanted to keep the baby and had plans on how to support it. Then I got a message from the office that she would be out for “surgery” all week. I don’t think I will know what happened until next week when the girl gets back.
I have never counseled anyone, so I am not sure on what to say. I pray God will tell me.
May God bless you all!

Soooo sad. I had a college roommate/dear friend who, at the age of 17, was taken by her mother to have an abortion. That’s always how she put it: “My mom took me to have an abortion.” She’s a wonderful person deep down but also the coldest, most rigid person on the outside. Huge wall around the girl. Took me forever to get to know her, and now that we live on opposite sides of the country, we’ve drifted apart. :(
Dear Lord God, You alone know what has happened. You alone were there. Lord God, at times like these we can only hold onto Your promises, for You are a God who is unchanging. You are a God who is Truth, therefore You cannot lie. You promise to use ALL things for good in light of eternity in the lives of those who serve You. Heavenly Father, You love each of us...the teenage girl, her mother, her family, the teenage father. Help us not to judge, but to pray. Lord God, let not the life of this little baby - whether already cut short or destined to live longer - be for nought. Use this little precious life for Your overriding purposes - to draw as many back to You as will come. Whatever her circumstances now, be with this teenage mother, surround her with those who know YOu. Bring her hope through Your Word. Oh Father, this and so much more You will do. We wait in joyful hope for word of Your unfailing love! We trust only in You! Thank you for being our eternal hope in all things - especially the hard things of this world. In Jesus’ name, Amen
