Mosul (AsiaNews) - The Chaldean archbishop of Mosul is dead. Archbishop Faraj Rahho was kidnapped last February 29 after the Stations of the Cross. His kidnappers have given word of his death, indicating to the mediators where they could recover the body of the 67-year-old prelate. "It is a heavy Cross for our Church, ahead of Easter", Rabban al Qas, bishop of Arbil, tells AsiaNews in response to the news.

Our Lord welcomes His son and martyr at this holy time.
Eternal rest grant unto him, and may perpetual light shine upon him. May he and all the saints through the mercy of God rest in peace.
Eternal Father I offer You the Body and Blood of Your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ in union with all the masses said throughout the world this day for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, for sinners in my own home and in my own family. Amen

He is a now a real martyr, and a true one - not like those fake Muslim “martyrs” who murder others.

Another reminder of how blessed we in America are and how great the faith of the martyr is.

Do you not think that might still not have happened if we had forced Christianity on their nation?

I think I saw him on EWTN a couple of months ago.
God Bless him.
And God, strengthen us for the longer war to come.

You might provide the best answer; why do people who are afraid of confronting Islam call themselves conservatives? Historical ignorance? Nah...probably just fear, heah? You'll look good in a Bhurka, Susie.

Try just a modicum of logic here: there is a collosal difference between "forcing Christianity" on them and refusing to be part of a Constitution that states "No law that contradicts.. Islam may be established." What GWB and Condi did was take down their shorts for the radical Imams. Proud moment for America, heah?

Dead to this world, of course, but born anew to eternal life.
Another one safely home.

Notice that Al Sadr announced this week that he has failed in his effort to establish and Islamic state in Iraq. He is giving up politics and dedicating himself to study in Iran.
I guess he did not get your angry anti Bush memo.

That's a little like hearing Marxist revolutionaries argue with each other, and then taking solace that the "nicer Marxist" won. This "non-Islamic" state sure didn't help the Chaldean Bishop or the Chaldean Christians, did it?
You have to separate your idol-worship of GWB from your principles--if they are stil intact. You simply cannot defend the craven cowardice of putting "No law that contradicts.. Islam may be established" in the Iraqi Constitution. Would you want your son to die for the radical Imams? Or just George Bush.
Real Conservatives don't live in a fantasy world.

Proud moment for America, heah? I am proud that we freed a people from an oppressive regime. I am proud that we created a free republic to live as they see fit.

Yeah, I guess that means allowing for the brutal, ransoming death of a Chaldean Christian now and then.
Sending your sons to die for an Islamic Constitution is no great day for America.

How does one respond to such narrow minded thinking?
