I understand what you are saying. I am just suggesting that you have gotten the Hyper-Calvinist view stuck in your head when thinking of the Reformed view of election.

I’d hate to have you viewing a truly horrid and heretical view of us and have you judging us by a those such as Phelps, who is a hyper-calvinist and has been roundly denounced throughout the Reformed circles.

I think we all sadly have skeletons in our theological closets. I’ll admit, I don’t even consider Phelps a Christian, so have no fear, I don’t use the “Reformed” label for someone like him. I do have difficulty with understanding the Reformed position because it seems to easy to slide from “Predestination” to “Double Predestination”. God Bless.

The reformation was in response to the excesses and immorality of Rome.

As a result, we now have a menagerie of sects which engage in heresy and immorality on a scale in which the original reasons for the reformation pale in comparison.

Protestants should clean their own house, which is in a vile and disgusting state of disrepair, and stop attacking Rome, which we still be there 2000 years from now, which can't be said for most of the separated brethren.

Nice dodge, not really. They are straw-men. Observations by themselves hardly are facts. To claim them as such, is quite inaccurate. Our ancestors observations told them the World was Flat, we know the truth. Yet their observations, told them otherwise. Your observations tell you many things you believe about the Roman Catholic Church. The vast majority are false.

Is it your observations or documented facts which lead you to know the level of Scriptural knowledge of the average Catholic?

This is exactly what bothers me about my Catholic brothers and sisters, that they may miss heaven and eternity with Christ because of wrong teaching. Praise God indeed that she was led to the Lord Himself before she died. That’s my prayer for all my family members.
