Why is it that every pope reads his speeches/sermon? Regardless of language they laborously read from a script.

Here is the homily delivered at today's Mass. As you can see, this is not 'scripted'. The Holy Father, as I mentioned on the other thread, writes his homilies to the Universal Church and to the local community more specifically. This is an excellent example. Would appreciate your feedback. Thanks!
