Just like the RLDS didn't exist ~ and so terribly many references and cross-references, all neatly organized and precisely cited.

If I didn't know this was about the LDS' point of view I'd think it was something done by the SDA. (And there are those here in these hallowed threads who think I'm a tad strange suspecting some Mormons (not authentic ones at all) of having SDA leanings, and vice versa, yet, here we have the largest group doing an SDA job on the literature).

Gad!

Who has problems with LDS Mormons. I don't. I don't have problems with Clown Posse either.

I just don't get it. Some people worship their Shiatsu dog. Others some drunk, gold digging rip off artist pediophile delusionist.

It's a big country, and room for all.

Well first off it is a Shih tzu. And they are sweet lovable dogs. I breed them. I don't have a problem with the LDS either . As long as I can practice my religion & it is respected I am fine with others as long as minor sex is not involved.

My spelling is just as correct as yours. Unless we are going to Han language court.

I don't respect any Umba Gumba. So don't feel special.

I read about half and will have to come back for more. My feeling is that if someone else’s religion is not causing me any harm, they are free to worship as they like.

And you are so very brave to take that daring stand.</satire>

Honestly, nobody (I hope) contends this sentiment. The big issue is which religion, if any, is right.

“Yet many who would provide the strongest denunciations of LDS theology and practice are the very ones who have done the least work in seriously studying LDS writings and interacting with LDS viewpoints.”

I thought that was an interesting statement. Thanks for posting this.

You know, don’t you, I used to be one of them, the anti Mormons. It was the way I was raised - Southern Baptist. We pretty much despised everyone - Jews, Catholics, Mormons, you name it.

I was rather amazed when I actually opened my mind an inch and listened to what the LDS Missionaries had to say. I was thoroughly amazed. I don’t like it much that preachers from the pulpit preached against Mormons all the while not having a clue on earth what they were talking about.

I thought Shiatsu was a type of Japanese massage. As a matter of fact I know it is.

Yes it is but I still am unsure about Umba Gumba. I wonder if its a dish from New Orleans. I must be in food mood. Nope its not food, I just looked. I guess you will have to wonder like me....

I was raised Southern Baptist and it was nothing like you described. We were not taught to hate anyone. we were taught salvation, morality and responsibility.

Calvary Baptist Church, Jackson Mississippi. Dr Joe Tuten pastor. In fact I have never attended a large Southern Baptist church like some here describe. I’m not even aware of any conservative Christian church that preaches hate though I do find Hagee’s Catholic rants a bit much.

I’m still Southern Baptist but I find some of the Mormon bashing on the FLDS threads to contain the vilest nasitest posters I have ever seen on this forum. They are the new Harpies.

Without reason and drunk on indignation venting their Mormon and been-done-bad- by a man demons on the forum.

Mormons here should not have to put up with that crap. It’s ridiculous.

lmao...I call my crew the Muslims. I have 5 of them & they are more or less a clown posse. They are also called the Lion dog. I don’t worship them but I do love them & they are really cute & loyal. They hate snarky people and are known to bite when they feel like it.

I’ve been on FLDS threads & I do not bash the LDS. I don’t know their teachings so its not up to me to bash them. I do however have a huge problem with underage sex. Not just with the FLDS but with anyone...I also have a huge problem with the bleeding the beast thing. If you want to have multi (of age) wives & children fine by me...Just support them yourself. I think its wrong & unfair for the rest of us to pay for men to have large families & many “wives”. I don’t think that is bashing as the LDS is not the FLDS. If the Muslims are doing it then I have a problem with them too. Or any other group. Pay for your own families like the rest of us do is fair & the way it should be. I love children & would have liked to have more but knew I couldn’t afford it. So I don’t think I am bashing. If you think I am , then I am sorry.

I wasn’t thinking of you but plenty of the FLDS rants are an excuse for echo chamber Mormon bashing.

JR killed all this off back in 2001 I think but it comes back.

Mormons and polygamy are off my radar here in Nashville but I have questuions about the El Dorado raid beyond just the obvious infractions but rather about the wilder claims and some of the duplicity surrounding the search warrant. I have seen no proven evidence yet this raid will bring any fruit beyond consent and polygamy law violations but come of the claims made are very salacious. I also think some women here have a rather odd perspctive of culpabilty on the whole notion of polygamy and teen marriage and pregnancy in the Southwest. We shall see, this is Restornu’s thread and I don’t want to turn it into yet another FLDS fight thread.

Problem with FLDS threads is no questioning period is allowed by several loud and prolific posters. You do that and they run in a wolf pack accusing the poster....not only me but anyone else of being a Warren Jeffs supporter and basically a Son of Satan.

yes...the welfare exploitation is proven....at least to me too
I have 5 children and love my life with all that entails, I am sorry for anyone else who wishes the same and did not have it.

I don't understand a lot of the anti-Mormonizm on FR. I had a couple of men knock on my door last week. They were spreading the gospel. They were very nice, I shook both of their hands and wished them luck. I could never be one, I love my beer too much. It must be an Evangelical thing I guess.

“It must be an Evangelical thing I guess.”

It is all Christianity, including Catholic and Orthodox.
