Exactly,you’re right about huge geological events of our dynamic world not being witnessed. We’ve only had accurate records for a few decades and I think some events still slip by.

Actually, the amount of “soot” (particulates) volcanoes put into the air act to shade the earth, and will tend to cool it. I think it was Krakatoa or one of those back in the 1700’s that caused the “year without summer”.
But - the globull warmers WILL use this to their advantage. “Yes, the Earth is cooler now than 1998 in spite of increase CO2, but that is because of the volcanoes. It would be EVEN WARMER if they hadn’t erupted, so we really need to start taxing CO2 output.

I was reading a fascinating article on the coming sunspot minimum in 2012 and how the earth may cool dramatically for decades if past is prologue on a site linked somewhere. It was awesome. Another “Maunder Minimum” perhaps and massive crop death and...
You get the picture. Global warming of course.

Good point. In fact, it was the Tambora eruption of 1816 that caused the Year without a Summer. Maybe the Watermelons can tax the Volcano or the countries where the volcanos reside.

Definitely! It happens here in Alaska all the time. Just ask the Caribou. A herd was found a few years back that got buried in a land slide god knows when.
