Anglican Bishop Calls for 'Gay Christianity'
Catholic Online ^ | 5/20/08 | Hilary White

The Anglican Church is the perfect vehicle for creating a new “gay” Christianity by virtue of the fact that it is the only church that accepts the logical contradiction of asserting both the sanctity of human life and the existence of a right to abortion.

Episcopal bishop Gene Robinson, whose ordination to the episcopate has precipitated the ongoing schism between traditionally Christian Anglicans and its ultra-liberal, secularized branches, is in London to talk about his vision for the homosexual future of the Anglican Church.

He was visiting and promoting his cause in preparation for the upcoming Lambeth Conference in July.

Perhaps this is Vickie Eugene Robinson's gay version of the Anglican via media. An ancient doctrine with a new twist?

also, the headline “Anglican Bishop” probably causes many in the Anglican Communion to feel nauseated as most have neither approved of or accepted Robinson as an Anglican Bishop - only the Americans.

It’s unfortunate and somewhat misleading that the author chooses to empahsize the term “Anglican” vs. “Episcopalian” in referring to Robinson. Vicky Gene (along with his “prophetic” theology) is persona non grata with the vast majority of the Anglican Communion. I can only assume that the author had an agenda which was reflected in the author’s choice of terms.

And why don?t I go to church? I was an Anglican ... any questions?

Yes, lots of them. Were you Episcopalian in a liberal church when you attended? Did you realize where the church left orthodox Christianity? Were you aware of orthodox Anglican churches? Did you seek one out (or another orthodox denomination) and attend one for a while to counter the heresies that you were hearing from the pulpit? Etc.

He's going to have a lot to answer for. I am a sinner, as are we all. And we all have to answer for that. But this man is saying that "sin is not sin", and that's a real no-no.

You don't call good evil and evil good, according to Isaiah. And Bishop Robinson is definitely calling evil good.

Oh, well then that makes it OK.

Which part of the Bible endorses sin?

I was in the same boat, but then I found a great Bible-believing Presbyterian church. Unfortunately, it’s part of the PCUSA, which is also rapidly going down the tubes. We’re growing, but the presbytery is crumbling around us.

Actually, I believe the Episcoplal Church’s math is less people = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Gays tend to be wealthy, die young, and lack heirs. And there’s that heritage of real estate, annuities, and wills. But the more people in the church, the more they want to have the money spent in support of spreading the gospel and ministries.

Don’t get me wrong: the Church Establishment profits off of more people in the pew, but this comes at a sizable loss of control over how to spend (and save) the money.

It’s not even so much the unrepentant that bug me. I really wouldn’t mind hypocrites as much as I mind those who boldly proselytize wickedness.

Any other parts of the Bible this “Bishop” wishes to ignore?

Lev 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
