The Pope’s homily is magnificent and profound (as usual). And the Ecumenical Patriarch is speaking out of a great desire for unity and I seriously think we are going to see something concrete within our lifetime. Incredible.
He may be the last EP, by the way. The Turkish government controls who may be appointed Patriarch of Constantinople, and they have put so many restrictions on it that now there aren’t any candidates who meet the qualifications.
