Daily "Pray for America" Thread (8-12-08)

America has been greatly blessed by God and has stood as the greatest country in the history of the world for over 200 years. America has many foreign and domestic enemies that are seeking her destruction.

This thread is a daily call and reminder for people of faith who believe in God and in the power of prayer to make a commitment to intercede for America at this critical time in her history

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

David built an altar to the LORD there and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. Then the LORD answered prayer in behalf of the land, and the plague on Israel was stopped.

if we stay faithful in prayer and intercede for america as king david interceded for israel, we will see God's answer.

A Prayer for the Nation

Almighty God, Who has given us this good land for our heritage; We humbly beseech Thee that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of Thy favor and glad to do Thy will. Bless our land with honorable ministry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion, from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people, the multitude brought hither out of many kindreds and tongues. Endow with Thy spirit of wisdom those whom in Thy name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that through obedience to Thy law, we may show forth Thy praise among the nations of the earth. In time of prosperity fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in Thee to fail; all of which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Beloved Father,

Thank You for allowing us to live in the greatest country in the history of the world. You have Blessed us beyond anything we ever deserved, and in return, we have given America over to evil men and women who pollute our government and courts. We are guilty of the sin of apathy, and we ask You to forgive us. Reveal any sins of commission and omission that we have in our lives so we can forsake them and walk in Righteousness before You. When we lift hands to You, may they be Holy hands that offer our Praise and Thanksgiving for Your amazing Loving kindness, Mercy and Grace. Thank You for giving Your Son to die for the sins of all of us. May we enter into Your presence covered by the shed Blood of Jesus and make our requests known unto You, in His Name. We humbly ask You to forgive Your Children who are called by Your Name, of any and all sin. Help us to turn from our wicked ways, and burden our hearts to pray for America so that You will heal our land. Please Bless those who have come forward to Pray for America. May You grant them the desires of their hearts.

Thank You for giving us this day to Worship You in freedom. Because of Your love for us, we are one of the only countries in the world who enjoy total freedom. Our forefathers were careful to make sure we had freedom of Religion in our Constitution. Until a few decades ago, we enjoyed being able to have religion in schools and government, but along came the evil arm of Satan, the ACLU, and they started suing to take away our Religious freedoms. At the same time those evil people in our government are stealing money from the American people, not caring that their greed was enslaving Americans.

Abba, this is Your country, and although those same evil people have been pushing You out of it, we are here to reclaim it in Your Name, and for Your purposes, but we need Your help to do it. The first thing we need to do is to seek Your Face and to humble ourselves, praying for forgiveness of our sins, and turning from our wicked ways, so that You will hear from Heaven and heal our land. We pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send us workers to join us in this effort. Please burden the hearts of Christians that they love You and America enough to join us. The next thing we need to do is rid our government and courts of the ones who hate You and Americans. We need You to help us in that too. Please throw out the ones who have turned against You and us, and above all else please keep Barack Obama from winning the election. You have seen the evil that the Democrats have done by signing illegal voters and we ask You to cause that to come back on their heads. ACORN needs to be put out of business because they are truly evil. Please change John McCain's heart to understand what You want for America and please Lord, don't let him push through a blanket amnesty. It will destroy America, and we cry out to You to keep that from happening.

Father we ask You to protect our brave men and women who serve in our military and also to protect the first responders who serve here at home. Please go before our troops and clear the way from any bombs or other attacks that have been laid up to kill and maim our troops. Please help the ones who have been wounded so they can get the very best medical care available. There are so many of them that have had life changing injuries. Please help them to adjust and be able to live with their disabilities. There are also many who were killed in this war with Islam. Please comfort their loved ones and give them strength to go forward with their lives.

Merciful Father, we bring these prayers, requests and Intercessions to You and ask You that You would receive them and act upon them with favor, in the Name of Jesus, and we thank You again for Your Mercy. Amen!!
